My primary objective for pastoral ministry is “the loving leadership of people to participate through the Spirit in the incarnate Son’s communion with the Father.” This Trinitarian center for ministry and life is described well in the Apostle John’s first letter. Nearly 2,000 years ago, he wrote the following words. “Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and the Father” (1 John 2.24, ESV). My privilege as a Pastor is to tell the same Story that was announced by the Apostles. Namely, that life is found in being united by the Spirit to the Father through Jesus, His only begotten Son. Even more amazing for me is that I get to participate in this Story, week after week, with my favorite local church on the planet, Somonauk Baptist Church! SBC is the church in which I was raised, baptized, and united in marriage to my wife. It is my grateful honor to return to this place where my participation in the Story of stories began. David’s post high school training includes Calvary Bible College, Dallas Theological Seminary, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. David delights in spending time with his family, wife Yulinda, daughters Dalin and Aletheia, and son Silas; reading, the Scriptures, Church History, about Church Fathers (especially Athanasius and Irenaeus), Pauline Theology, and works on a distinctively Christian Ecclesiology. Hearing and Seeing the Story of Redemption that God is telling through music and film. Somonauk Baptist Church as we learn to participate together in God’s Story of Redemption. David’s hobbies include Basketball, Jogging, Cycling, Cubs Baseball, Bears Football, and his Macbook. OR
________________________________________________________________________________________________ My goal for the youth of Somonauk Baptist Church is to develop young men and woman of God firmly grounded in their faith. In a world that questions everything it is essential that students know what they believe and why they believe what they believe. It is absolutely necessary to have our students lovingly connected to their Lord and Savior while also understanding what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. As Luke 9:23 states, “…If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” I want the students of this church to be able to give educated answers to many of the questions they will face throughout their life. Jordan's post high school training includes Wheaton Bible College (current student). Jordan enjoys Discovering the many things that God has planned for those who trust him. Reaching the community in new and exciting ways while still putting an emphasis on the Gospel message. Worshiping our savior who paid a price for all; so that we may be with Him for eternity. Disney, a little known fact but Jordan is a master in all things Disney. Jordan’s hobbies include Wheaton Thunder Football, Football in general, Wheaton Thunder Track and Field, Basketball, Movies, and THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ I count it a joy and privilege to serve at Somonauk Baptist Church and Christian School! My primary goal for ministry is to assist the pastoral and school staff by managing the various office duties so that they can more effectively meet the needs of the church and school body. My family began attending Somonauk Baptist Church when I was a toddler, and I attended Somonauk Christian School from my Kindergarten years through 8th grade. I am amazed and so thankful that God has given me the opportunity to serve and minister in the church in which I spent a majority of my life. Even more amazing is that I now have the opportunity to serve along side my brother, David. Jenny's post high school training includes Calvary Bible College, Kansas City, Missouri. Jenny enjoys time with her nieces, Dalin and Aletheia, and her nephew Silas; Southern Gospel Music; watching Little League Baseball; Biking; Baking; I Love Lucy (the best TV show of all time!); Creating Computer Publications; and Organization.
